About Us
Consortium
Partnerships with Patient Organizations, Scientific Organizations and the Industry aim at a united approach to enhance patients’ quality of life and highlight their needs and experience.
ERIC
ERIC was founded in 2001 and represents an European organisation devoted to improving the outcome of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and related diseases. It is a registered non-profit organisation under the name of the European Research Initiative on CLL e.v. ERIC is also a Working Party of the European Leukemia Net (ELN) and a Scientific Working Group of the European Hematology Association (EHA). ERIC is open to all physicians and scientists working/interested in the field of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and related disorders. The ERIC Office located in Barcelona is hosted by The Research Institute of the Sant Pau Hospital (IR-HSCSP).
INAB | CERTH
The Institute of Applied Biosciences at the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (INAB|CERTH) conducts research in the Life Sciences that extends from microbes to plants, animals and humans. Our aim at INAB is to promote basic research, while providing solutions to important social needs related to health and well-being. In this context, INAB conducts Biomedical research and deals with the development and evaluation of digital health interventions and personalized medicine, while also holding a leading position in Agri-biotechnology, utilizing modern high-performance methodologies, molecular biotechnology and ‘breeding by design’ approaches, with the aim of developing high quality and value products. We work towards this direction with the basic principle of cooperation between scientists with different but complementary knowledge and skills. The main pillars of our activity are bioanalysis, data from the real world and the development of relevant applications. INAB’s researchers play an important role in identifying, disseminating and supporting good research and educational practices, thus facilitating interaction between scientists, authorities and society. This, strengthens our cooperation with critical ‘players’ both nationally and internationally, giving them the opportunity to upgrade their services in critical areas such as health, agri-food, education and technological development. At INAB, we believe that sustainability presupposes renewal based on both innovation and developments in technology and social needs. Thus, we will continue to be at the forefront of research on carefully selected areas of scientific, social and economic interest.
Psychology Lab | INAB
The Psychology Lab is part of INAB, CERTH and it is a growing, intergraded, multidisciplinary team, which is led by Dr. Christina Karamanidou (Health Psychologist, PhD) since it was founded in 2016. In order to address the primarily interdisciplinary needs of the group, it employs PhD candidates, MSc students and research assistants with various backgrounds, including medicine, clinical and health psychology, digital health as well research and statistics. The primary focus of the Psychology Laboratory is to bridge the gap between research excellence and practice in Life Sciences by undertaking research and interventions that meet patients’ and healthcare professionals’ (HCPs) needs. The Lab is dedicated to evidence-based practice, by empowering patients and HCPs and facilitating person-centred care. It is in close collaboration with major EU organizations (e.g. European Research Initiative for CLL – ERIC, European Hematological Association), patient organizations (e.g. Lymphoma Coalition, ELLOK) and pharmaceutical companies (e.g. Gilead Sciences, AstraZeneca Global). This allows the Lab to co-ordinate and lead the development of national and international projects while working together with foremost experts in their field. The team has experience with a great variety of research projects, and working with different patient groups such as patients with cancer, and other non-communicable and communicable diseases.
